The first in the Milne Pooh quartet in which we meet Winnie-The-Pooh for the first time in the Teddy Bear, poem 'A bear, however hard he tries, Grows tubby without exercise...' Delightful rhymes and illustrations. Blue cloth with gilt title to spine and vignettes to front cover. Cream pictorial endpapers. B/w text illustrations. Top edge gilt.
Spine and corners bumped and worn. Spine browned. Covers marked. Endpapers browned. Joints and some hinges cracked. Pencil doodle to rear free-endpaper. Small piece torn from lower edge of page before first verse (has title "When We Were Very Young" on it). Some grubby marks and a few small crayon marks to text.
