A lovely set of facsimile editions of the 4 pooh books: Winnie The Pooh, The House at Pooh Corner, When We Were Very Young, Now We Are Six. All bound in cloth with gilt titles and vignettes and top edges gilt. B/w text illustrations. Contained in a blue slipcase with gilt title and vignettes. A lovely set contained in publisher's slipcase which is a little browned and grubby. Slight musty odour present.
Childrens Illustrated Classics series. Beige cloth with dark blue titles and pale blue birds/butterfly decorations. 4 colour plates. Numerous b/w illustrations. Spine bumped. Light page edge browning to the plates (affecting margins only). Price-cut wrapper is slightly grubby and edge chipped.
Green cloth, gilt titles and vignettes. B/w illustrations. Green pictorial endpapers. Spine and corners bumped and rubbed. Name in ink to front free-endpaper. Foxing to contents, mainly at book edges. Dustwrapper is edge worn and chipped with slight loss.
Red cloth, gilt title to spine and small vignettes to front board. Top edge red. Pink illustrated endpapers. B/w illustrations to text. 158 pages. 7.5 x 5". Spine and corners bumped and slightly rubbed. Both joints are slightly cracked. Red dustwrapper is faded to spine with loss at top of spine and is edge chipped with some creasing.
Purple cloth, gilt title to spine and small vignettes to front covers. Lilac illustrated endpapers. B/w illustrations throughout. 103 pages. 7.5 x 5". Spine bumped. Light spotting to covers. Heavy foxing to page edges. Pink dustwrapper is edge worn and grubby with slight loss at corners.

Contents are generally still very good.

Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Spine is browned with a few small nicks/chips to top and tail. Cup ring and other splash marks to covers. Browning to endpapers. Bookplate to verso of front endpaper. Foxing/browning to outer page edges; some margin marks. Page margin tears to a few pages. Contents are still generally very good.
The first in the Milne Pooh quartet in which we meet Winnie-The-Pooh for the first time in the Teddy Bear, poem 'A bear, however hard he tries, Grows tubby without exercise...' Delightful rhymes and illustrations. Blue cloth with gilt title to spine and vignettes to front cover. Cream pictorial endpapers. B/w text illustrations. Top edge gilt. Spine and corners bumped and worn, small dents to lower edges of covers. Endpapers lightly browned. Some hinges cracked. Light fingermarks to page margins and one page (18) has a small ink stain to lower margin.
Large format. Pictorial cardwrap calendar, which is bound together with blue cord through punched holes at top. One and two colour illustrations, with a verse for each month of the year. A few grubby brown marks to covers and a few light marks internally. Couple of months have markings to them, where calendar was used in 1930! 'April' has tear to one hole at top - so now only attached by the one hole. A scarce item!
Pink cloth, black titles and vignette to front cover. B/w plates and text illustrations. Details completed throughout the book for Sybil Gillian (Jill) Clark born 1936. Spine and corners bumped, dent to top edge. Fading to spine. 1 plates has been re-inserted with frayed edges. Heavy foxing throughot.

Red boards with black lettering and small illustration to front. Colour frontis, and 6 b&w illustrations. Part of the Susan & Bill series. 118 pages. Foxing to endpapers and outer page edges. Wrapper is price-cut with tears and chips; repaired to verso with sticky tape. Some small loss to wrapper; a few surface paper chips to rear panel.
