Almost very good condition. Vibrant blue cloth with gilt title and decoration to spine. Gilt illustration to front cover. Eight coloured plates. Numerous b/w illustrations. 388 pages. 7.5 x 5". All edges gilt.
Spine is browned, with a couple of splits to top; a little chipping with fraying to cloth at base of spine. A few marks to covers; spotting to rear cover. Corners are bumped. Damp stain to bottom page margins along spine, from beginning of book through to around page 233, starting again at page 250 through to the end of the book. Some page margin marks and foxspots. Inscription in ink to half-title page. Tear along spine edge of front endpaper.
