Almost very good condition. New Impression. Violet cloth with elaborate gilt decorations to front cover and spine. Black endpapers. 8 colour plates plus numerous b/w plates and text illustrations. All edges gilt. 388 pages.
Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Covers slightly grubby. Gilt a bit rubbed. Spine darkened. Front joint cracked showing webbing. A couple of hinges starting to crack but binding is firm. Book plate to front pastedown. Full page ink inscription to verso of frontis. Contents very good, just an odd mark. All plates present, one colour plate is partially detached as is tissue guard for frontis.
