- Linbury Court School hasn't changed: Mr. Wilkins, the teacher with the short fuse but a kind heart is still corr-whumphing. Mr. Pemberton -Oakes is still Head and Mr. Carter remains the senior master. And J.C.T. Jennings, with his friend Darbishire is still getting into trouble.
- When Mr. Wilkins was away sick for a few days it was Jennings who organised the get-well card and a pot plant. Unfortunately Darbishire - who bought the card - hadn't read the inscription and Jennings inability to tell the difference between rhubarb and a lily convinced Mr. Wilkins it was a practical joke. But it was the search for the time capsule which was the cause of most of the misunderstandings. Jennings' plan to disguise the whole affair by forming a secret bird-watching society caused many more complications than he had bargained for, including detention of the whole of Form Three and the need to hide from fellow bird-watchers.
