Wayside and Woodland Series. Burgundy cloth, gilt titles and fly vignette to front. Pink pictorial endpapers. Colour & b/w illustrations. 383 pages including index. Light rubbing to lower edge of boards (shelf-wear) else boards clean and bright. Text block is lightly browned. Contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is in three pieces: detached at front spine edge and rear flap. dustwrapper is very worn and creased, faded at spine, some loss including most of the lower half of the spine.

Burgundy textured boards, gilt titles and vignette of fly to front. 25 colour plates, 28 half-tone plates and numerous text figures and diagrams depicting 286 representative species from original enlarged microscope drawings. 384 pages including index. Top edge red. ISBN: 0723200041. Top & tail of spine and corners lightly rubbed. Spine is lighty faded. Text block lightly browned with small stain to vertical edge. Couple of pale foxspots to verso of frontis else contents clean.

Gilt is still bright. Text block browned. A few scattered foxspots to contents and a few grubby marks e.g. page 15 (see photo). Contents generally very nice. Pictorial dustwrapper is edge-rubbed, lightly faded to spine, lightly scuffed, front flap has had tape on it at some point which has stained the flap vertically with some loss of surface paper.
