Large format. Olive green boards with gilt title to spine. A Celebration of British Butterflies Painted In Natural Habitat. Colour illustrations. ISBN: 190407815X. Spine and corners bumped, slight fading to cover edges and slight rubbing to corners. Lower edge of textblock is very slightly grubby and top edge is slightly spotted else contents fine. Dustwrapper is very faded to spine and front panel, has a piece torn to top of spine and is slightly edge worn/creased. Barcode label to rear panel of wrapper.

Text block browned. A few scattered foxspots to contents and a few grubby marks e.g. page 15 (see photo). Contents generally very nice. Pictorial dustwrapper is edge-rubbed, lightly faded to spine, lightly scuffed, front flap has had tape on it at some point which has stained the flap vertically with some loss of surface paper.

Second Series - comprises - The Superfamilies Clavicornia, Heteromera, Lamellicornia, Phytophaga and Rhynchophora, and Including the Strepsiptera. Colour and b/w plates with numerous text figures and diagrams. A few light marks to top edges of volume 1, the covers of which are still very bright. The covers of volume 2 are just a little dulled but otherwise clean and bright. Spine and corners of both volumes are a tinyb it bumped and rubbed. Evidence of old (partially erased) pencil prices to front free-endpapers else contents are clean. A nice set.
