Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. New Naturalist series. A clod of earth, seemingly simple and lifeless, is now known to be highly complex in structure and tenanted by a remarkable range of animals and plants of its own... Green cloth boards. 4 colour photos. 44 b/w photos. 11 text figures. xiv and 237 pages plus publisher adverts to rear.

Boards clean. Foxing to endpapers and text block. A few pale foxspots to some margins else contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper has '10' written in biro to lower corner of front flap, is browned, a little grubby to rear panel and a little edge-worn.
