Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. The eighth in the Adventure series. Cream pictorial cloth. B/w illustrations. 277 pages.

Spine bumped with some fading. Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Old tape marks to free-endpapers and some slight foxing to textblock. Dustwrapper is browned and foxed on verso, a little chipped to top and tail of spine.

It seems quite an ordinary river at first until it disappears underground. The children find themselves in strange places - dark caves, endless passages close to the plunging waters, strange and wonderful temples lost for countless years...... the children have their share of excitement, wonder and fear.
