Almost very good condition. This is the "New Edition", a reprint of the first but with a new colour frontis and an additional 7 b/w drawings. 50 superb tipped-in colour plates distributed throughout the book. Numerous b/w drawings including some full-page. Green cloth, elaborate gilt decorations to front cover and spine. 126 pages. Large format, 11.25 x 8.5 inches.
Spine is faded, with 1" tear to cloth at top; smaller nicks to base; faded. Cover edges are unevenly faded. A few other marks to covers. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Some foxing to pages throughout book. 50 plates are in excellent condition; just a couple of creased tissue-guards. 2 pages are detached, but loosely inserted.
