A personalised collection of 44 colour plates of Rackham's past work brought together in one sumptuous volume with introduction by Arthur Quiller-Couch. This is the Deluxe Limited edition of 1030 copies. Gold pictorial white cloth with gold lettering to cover and spine. Top edge gilt. All others untrimmed. Plates mounted on stiff brown paper. 10 b/w drawings plus a sketch of a bookplate on front paste-down. SIGNED by Illustrator. This is Copy No. 622. Spine is browned with some grubby marks; gilt to spine has faded. A few other grubby marks to covers. Foxing to endpapers, outer page edges and some tissue-guards. A few margin marks. Wrinkling to page edges of some pages. Plates are still excellent!

Front cover is browned, gilt is still bright. Smaller amount of browning to rear cover. Bookplate to front pastedown. Foxing - heaviest to endpapers and outer page edges; some to page margins. Tipped-in colour plates are exquisite!

Colour plates are still very good indeed!

Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Some uneven fading/marks to covers, with scuffing. Inscription in ink to front endpaper, which also has some corner creasing. Light corner crease to frontis, other plates are fine! Some foxing and browning.

Contains only 3 coloured plates and 23 b/w drawings, but they are among Rackham's finest. He modelled the apple tree on one which grew outside his barn at Houghton House but it was pushed over by a mischievous cow soon after being drawn! Rose-grey pictorial cloth. Grey/white pictorial endpapers. 77 pages. 8.25 x 6.5". Some light bumping and wear to spine and corners. A little foxing and browning to endpapers and outer page edges. Odd margin mark. All plates present. Creasing to a couple of tissue guards.

Fading to top and tail of spine; a few small nicks. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Colour frontis has been fully pasted in and has multiple creases to corners. Foxing to some pages and outer page edges. Scarce original wrapper is very browned to spine, with tears and chips and creasing; loss to top, middle and bottom of spine; corners; some tape repairs to verso; damp mark along bottom of front panel.
