Green cloth boards, gilt illustration and titles to front. Colour frontis, numerous b/w text and full page illustrations throughout. 178 pages. Boards a little rubbed at edges and lightly marked to rear board. Gilt to boards is bright. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Endpapers and text block browned. Title page browned. A few marks to contents. Slight musty odour present.

Board edges darkened. Both joints beginning to crack. Heavy browning to endpapers, tissue guard and title page. Some foxing, worst on prelims and last couple of pages and page edges.
