Slightly better than good condition. Cheaper issue with 24 colour plates (with tissue guards) and b/w text illustrations. New impression. Brown boards, dark brown titles and cobweb design to front, brown title to spine. Green illustration to endpapers.
Backstrip missing for 0.5" at top of spine and 0.75" at bottom. Corners bumped with wear. Some small marks to covers. Circular gilt school stamp to front cover. School prize plate to verso of front endpaper. A couple of hinges cracked. Foxing and some grubby marks and fingermarks but many pages are clean. All plates present.
