Very good condition in a good dustwrapper. How Biggles at 17 joined the Royal Flying Corps. and after a few fights, went to war. Red boards, black title to spine. Embossed scottie dog design to covers. Colour frontis.

Book affected by tobacco odour. Some page browning and foxing. Wrapper has corner cut off front flap; edge-creasing and tears; repaired to verso with sticky tape; a little loss.

  • A collection of 12 short stories from Biggles' very first days as a pilot. In reading order this book would be second after Biggles Goes to School. The book is notable for introducing Colonel Raymond, then Major Raymond, who involves Biggles in some of his espionage war effort. Full of World War I stories.
