Spine and corners lightly bumped and rubbed else an exceptionally bright grubby. Wrapper is grubby with approximately half of rear panel missing and has been pasted on to a piece of white card. Reprint in year of first publication. 6th edition. Reduced from £150.

Some bumping and wear to corners, with a little chipping. Some grubby marks and brown stain to bottom edge of front cover. Foxing to endpapers and outer page edges. Name and date inscription in ink of previous owner to front pastedown. A few light margin marks, but contents are still very good and nice and tight.

Pictorial wrapper has ink underlining to titles on rear flap, edge-tear to front flap, and a few other smaller edge-tears and nicks. Name in pencil written across front of front panel. A few other smaller marks to wrapper. Overall, still a good copy of this scarce item.

On the reverse is a rhyme by Arthur Burnaby with b/w illustrations also by Wain. Concertina folds worn leading to two pages being detached and last page fold fragile but holding. Edges rubbed. All figures present and in place. Light page bronwing. Colour illustrations and figures nice and bright.
