Pictorial dustwrapper has a few stains to verso, is edge-worn and creased with a few chips and small tears to corners, a little grubby and a few foxspots to rear.

Brown blind stamped boards, gilt title to spine and vignette to front. B/w plates. vi and 248 pages. Top & tail of spine worn, corners lightly rubbed. Boards clean and bright. Front endpaper missing. Contemporary inscription in ink to verso of frontis. Top corner creases to contents and a few grubby marks.
Combined single volume. Book One: From 18 Brumaire to Tilsit 1799-1807; Book Two: From Tilsit to Waterloo 1807-1815. Red cloth with a blocked gilt design, green title block with gilt title to spine. Colour plates. Heavy bumps to lower corners of slipcase affecting book slightly. A couple of other tiny knocks at edges of slipcase.
Small format. Light blue cloth, gilt title to spine and vignette to front. B/w illustrations. A few light marks to slipcase. Tiny nicks and small split at top and tail of slipcase opening.
Introduced by Horne. Silver decorated boards. Colour plates. Slip case is very good - some marks and wear.
