This edition partly re-written and entirely re-drawn. Yellow pictorial boards with red spine. Colour & b/w illustrations. Spine and corners bumped. Light finger creases/marks to endpapers. Some foxing to textblock. Dustwrapper is slightly creased.
A beautiful book! Pictorial boards, Colour illustrations throughout. Oblong format, 7.25 x 9.5". ISBN: 0370020200. Light bumping and wear to spine, corners and cover edges. Page edge browning. Wrapper is browned, with fading to spine; creased at edges and corners; a few closed tears, but virtually no loss.
Ladybird series 455. Buff pictorial boards. Colour illustrations. Spine slightly bumped. Light browning to covers. Foxing to textblock. Dustwrapper is slightly edge worn, small tear/crease to top edge of front panel. Browning on verso of wrapper.
Small oblong format. Black boards, white titles and vignette to front. Colour pictures throughout. Spine and corners very slightly bumped. A few hinges are cracked and pulled. Dustwrapper is slightly edge worn and a little grubby on rear panel.
Railway series no. 6 Yellow boards with blue vignette. Full page colour illustrations throughout. 62 pages. 4.25 x 5.75". Spine bumped and faded. Name and address written in ink to front free-endpaper, also an ink address stamp (different address) to same page. Slight cracking to the hinges. Some light fingermarks at page margins but contents generally clean.
The first title in the Railway series. The three engines all lived in the same shed and worked on the same railway... Small oblong format. Cream boards with green title and border to front cover. 62 pages. Colour illustrations. The first printing WITHOUT the advert at the rear of the volume for Thomas the Tank Engine which was published in 1946 and the use of the term fat director which is present on pages 40, 42, 52, 54, 56 and 60. In the 1947 edition and after he was renamed famously The Fat Controller. Covers slightly edge worn, some light foxing to covers. Small split to base of spine. Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Stitching slightly pulled causing contents to be a little loose. Some small, light fingermarks to contents. Dustwrapper is edge worn with small chips and slight loss and grubby. Still a nice, desirable copy of the scarce first edition with very scarce original dustwrapper.
Blue boards, gilt title to spine. B/w illus to text. Orange, green, blue & white paper used. 63pp. Demy 8vo. ISBN: 0904110192. A few marks to covers. Foxing to endpapers and outer page edges. Wrapper is damp marked with some scuffing and fading.
