Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper.
Mike, Belinda and Ann had been ill, and they wanted a real change! So they left their caravans and went off with their parents and Granny in a big ship, the Pole Star. Blue boards, black titles. Colour frontis. B/w illustrations. 88 pages Foxing present, mainly to text block, endpapers and page edges. Tiny closed tear to lower edge of title page (no loss, minor). Contents browned. Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper is edge-worn and chipped at corners.

Green boards, black title to spine. Colour frontis. B/w illustrations. Spine and corners a little bumped. Light browning to endpapers. Contents very good. Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper is edge worn and chipped. Small piece of clear tape to top of spine on verso to cover tears. Some foxing which is more visible on verso.

Very good condition in a fair dustwrapper.
New Edition. Blue boards, black title to spine. Colour frontis, b/w illustrations to text. Spine bumped with some fading. Covers mottled. A little browning to front endpapers and an odd fox spot to text block. Dustwrapper has lower half of spine missing and loss from both panels and edges, creasing to edges.

Ruth Gervis
Ruth Gervis (13 August 1894 – 26 October 1988) was a British illustrator. Ruth became widely known as a successful illustrator of children's books such as those by Paula Harris, Mary Treadgold, Kitty Barne and the Caravan Family series by Enid Blyton. She seized the chance of illustrating Noel Streatfeild's book Ballet Shoes in 1936 when Mabel Carey, children's editor for Dent and Sons Publishers, suggested she might be suitable without realising she was in fact Noel...
