Blue boards, pictorial onlays to front and spine (of girl and boy with dog). Colour frontis plus other plates, colour and b/w illustrations. Unpaginated. First story is "The Heart of Gold". Covers are edge worn, splits to spine and damage/loss at top. Foxing to covers (heavy). Some heavy foxing to contents and textblock. Last hinge is cracked.

Edited by Mrs. Herbert Strang. Blue boards, pictorial onlays to front and spine. Front shows a boy and a girl on a toy horse. Colour frontis and illulstrations, b/w text illustrations. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Rear cover is grubby and faded at edges. Endpapers lightly browned. Heavy foxing to textblock, some light foxing to contents. Some grubby fingermarks to page margins. Some of the b/w illustrations have been coloured in. Inscription in ink to belongs to box. Some hinges cracked causing contents to be a little loose.

Pictorial paper boards entitled 'Fairy Lights' shows children with Chinese lanterns. Colour frontis by Florence Harrison plus b/w and two-tone illustrations (one or two by F.Harrison). Spine and corners bumped and worn. Spine browned. Rear cover is grubby. Browning and foxing to contents. Some pencil colouring to endpapers, especially rear endpapers. One b/w illustration has been coloured in with watercolours. Hinges pulled but binding still tight. Name in heavy pencil to rear free-endpaper.

Spine is faded with damp stains spreading to both boards. Bumping and wear to covers and corners. Some foxing throughout. Colour plates are still very good.

First story is 'The Sea-Eagle' Nest' by Francklyn. Spine browned, bumped and worn with a little loss from top edge of onlay. Wear to corners and cover edges. Uneven fading and a few marks to covers. A couple of hinges cracked. A little foxing, mainly to text block. One plate partially detached.

Cloth on edges is fraying in a couple of places. Front board browned and a bit grubby. Surface paper damage to bottom of rear board which has a couple of marks and is grubby. Browning and a few margin marks to contents
