Large format. Cloth spine, front board shows boy and girl in snow (girl carrying parcels). Full-page colour and b/w text illustrations. First story is "How Toby Came To Tea" by E.S. Spine bumped and frayed. Corners bumped and worn. Board edges worn. Front board is scratched and rear board grubby. Some hinges cracked. Inscription to front endpaper plus '1 Hedges' stamped in ink. A second inscription plus name and address in belongs to box. Foxing to endpapers and page edges. Neat colouring to some b/w illustrations.

Pictures and stories for the little ones. Pictorial front board shows children picking apples. Black titles to spine. Adverts to rear board. 3 colour illustrations plus two tone illustrations. Spine bumped and very worn with some loss of surface. Heavy wear to corners and cover edges. Couple of tiny patches of surface paper damage to front cover, rear cover grubby and stained to edge with surface paper missing from lower inside corner. Name and address in pencil to verso of frontis. Marks to contents, mostly to margins.

Pictorial covers show continuous scene of pixies racing on tortoises. Red title page. Colour plates and b/w illustrations. Stories and rhymes. First story: Two Little Stars. Bumping and wear to spine and corners, slight loss of surface at ends of spine. Erased writing on front pastedown. Contents lightly browned but clean. Foxing to text block. Dustwrapper is edge worn, torn and creased with a few small pieces of loss. Small hole to rear fold. Brown tape stuck to worst tear on verso.

No. 5081. Chunky format (4cm thick). Red cloth spine, pictorial front board shows girl whispering in boy's ear. First story is "Peace With Honour" by Geraldine Glasgow. Colour plates and b/w text illustrations (including one Wain cat plate accompanying a verse called "All Afloat" by Clifton Bingham. Reprint, no date. Minimal bumping and wear to spine, corners and cover edges. Contents lightly browned with some foxing and an odd mark. One hinge cracked.

An anthology of short stories. Large format. Cloth spine, pictorial front board showing boy and girl on a swing. 8 full-page colour illustrations, b/w text illustrations throughout. First story is "The Knight and the Dragon" (told in rhyme). Spine bumped, corners worn. Covers are slightly grubby with a few small ink spots to rear cover. Gold address label to top margin of front pastedown (which is also the frontis - but it is in the margin so picture not affected). Prize plate neatly inserted at inner margin of title-page. Grubby fingermarks and pale page browning to contents. Neat list of illustrator names written in pencil to verso of title-page.

Spine bumped and rubbed. Corners bumped and worn. Board edges rubbed. Scratch marks to front board. Rear board rubbed and a bit grubby. Inscription in ink to verso of frontis which has a small margin tear. light browning to endpapers. A little foxing and some fingering. Colouring to one full page illustration and another has a small amount of colouring.

Rear board damp mottled and top of rear edge nibbled. Name in belongs to box. Damp staining to vertical margin of last few pages and pastedown. A few grubby marks to contents. Dustwrapper is heavily dampstained to rear panel and grubby to front panel with some slight loss at edges.
