Spine is faded, browned and has split to base; some chipping. Scuffing marks to covers. Bumping and wear to corners. Title page is MISSING! A few hinges are pulled. Browning to outer page edges and some page margins, which also have a few small tears. A reading copy.

B/w illustrations throughout including one small picture by Wain featuring 3 cats in the sea. Bumping and wear to corners and cover edges. Inscription in ink to belongs to page. Foxing to outer page edges and a few page margins. Wrapper is creased with a few large tears and chips; only a little loss to a couple of corners and top of spine.
