Good condition in a nearly fine dustwrapper.
Comprising of Joseph and his Brethren, The Story of King David, The Wonders of Providence and The Proverbs of Solomon. Large square format. Red cloth, gilt titles. 24 pages of illustrations (2 to a page). Spine and corners are worn and slightly damaged with some darkening to cover edges. Front and rear joints are cracked and have possibly been repaired. Foxing and finger throughout and a couple of small marginal closed tears.

Embossed green cloth with gilt titles and vignettes. 176 pages, all edges gilt. 6 hand-coloured plates with tissue-guards. Spine and corners slightly bumped. Covers a little darkened. Grubby fingermarks to page margins throughout (including to plate margins but actual illustrations still lovely and bright). Foxing to tissue-guards. A light scratch mark to margin of frontis affects the picture a little bit.

Front joint is just starting to crack. Light foxing to contents. First editions published in 1849 and 1850. An attractive volume.
