Red cloth, gilt title to spine, gilt vignette to front cover. 24 superb tipped-in colour plates. A collection of stories which originally appeared in Sir G.W. Dasent's "Popular Tales from the Norse". Spine slightly bumped, corners bumped and slightly rubbed. Spine slightly cocked. Foxing to endpapers and prelims. Contents bright and clean. An early reprint of this beautiful, scarce book.

Oblong format, green cloth with gilt title to front. Colour illustrations and etchings. 24 colour plates. A further 12 plates were published in the 1835 edition. Spine and corners bumped. Top and tail of spine frayed. Front joint broken. Rear joint strengthened with tape. 1st title page and 1 plate strengthened to edges with yellowing tape. Occasional grubby marks to page edges. A few page edges chipped. First title page lightly creased.

Inscription in ink to front endpaper. 2 b/w illustrations have some blue crayon colouring, a few pencil marks. Top & tail of sections worn else text block still tight.

Contained in original slipcase which is well worn but has done it's job and kept the book/dustwrapper nice.
