Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam the Astronomer Poet of Persia, Translated into English Verse by Edward Fitzgerald with an introduction by Byatt, full page colour illustrations throughout by Puttapipat, Top edge gilt. Blue Nigerian Goatskin spine with gilt title, purple vendome cloth sides. Gilt endpapers. Originally published in 1859. 69 pages. A fine copy contained in publisher's slipcase which is a little grubby and scuffed to one side. Slight binding imperfection where the boards are not sitting central - one board is sticking out further than the other.

Contemporary inscription in ink to free front endpaper dated 1803. Large dampstain to endpapers. 'Cooper' handwritten to title page. Binding tight. Contents browned with age.
