- As usual it was Jennings who took the lead in the more original enterprises of the Christmas term at Linbury Court School and as usual he was largely to blame for the ensuing disasters. For example there was the Form 3 Home-made High Fidelity Telephone designed for transmitting vital messages between Mars (Dormitory 4) and Earth (Dormitory 6). There was also the nerve-racking affair of the Assistant Masterpiece and ill-fated incident of the Christmas decorations which resulted in unexpected developments at the end-of-term party.
