  • When Jennings came to look back on it, it seemed that the whole term had billowed along in a torrent of ups and downs. Even the simplest problems develop in alarming fashion when Jennings tries to solve them. It is small wonder that the preparations for the end of term concert give rise to scenes of turmoil and confusion when Jennings takes the stage.
  • "Jennings and Darbishire....." It would be!" says Mr. Carter when he finds them accidentally locked in the out-of-bounds boiler room - or discovers them travelling by bus on the last stages of a cross-country run. However the term, so full of excitement and humour, finishes up with the boys on the crest of the wave.
