THE LITTLE GREY MEN
by BB
Illustrated by BB
Published by Eyre & Spottiswoode. 1st. 1942
Very good condition in a poor dustwrapper. A story about the last gnomes in Britain, their exploration of the Folly Brook and their search for Cloudberry, their long-lost brother who went up the Folly and never returned... Grey cloth, red titles. Enchanting b/w wood-engravings. 200 pages. (The true first edition, as this book was later published with colour plates).
Bumping and wear to spine and corners; spotting to couple of corners. Some browning and uneven fading; especially to spine, which also has a damp mark to base. Bookplate to front endpaper. Some foxing - mostly to outer page edges and endpapers. Name in ink to front endpaper. Wrapper is in two halves, with spine MISSING; tape marks to edges; much creasing and tears; but both panels are mostly complete!
