Slightly better than good condition. Retold by Holmes. Large format. Beige cloth spine, pictorial front board. 12 pretty colour plates plus b/w text illustrations.
Spine bumped, rubbed and browned. Corners bumped and very worn. Board edges rubbed. Covers grubby with some marks. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Rear joint and some hinges cracked. Top and bottom of a few pages detached with tears to the margins of several pages. Creasing to title page. Some colouring to black and white illustrations. Colour plates all present. Foxing to endpapers and some page margins.
