Very good condition in a fair dustwrapper. Sumptous green moire silk binding, gilt decorated front cover and spine. 12 superb colour plates plus 17 full-page line drawings and numerous other decorations. Peach pictorial endpapers. 197 pages. 11.25 x 8.75".
Spine and corners bumped and slightly worn with a couple of small splits to top of spine. A few tiny indentations to cover edges. Faint stain to front cover and light damp stain to top edge of rear cover. Inscription in green ink to front endpaper (with date obliterated). Small booksellers sticker to front pastedown. Small chip to top edge of front pastedown and small closed tear to lower edge of endpaper. There is some light foxing to the contents and one of the plates is lightly foxed (The Swineherd) otherwise all plates present and in fine condition. A nice copy of a scarce book in an even scarcer dustwrapper which is in two pieces (almost three as the spine piece is now almost completely detached from rear fold), there is 4" loss to the top of the spine piece, slight loss to base of spine and corners. There is a large tear to the top of the rear edge. The wrapper is grubby and marked and the spine piece is browned.
