Children's Illustrated Classic Series. Beige and orange decorated cloth with blue titles. 8 colour plates plus b/w line drawings. 295 pages. Inscription in ink to half-title page. Foxing to outer page edges. Wrapper is browned to spine with edge-wear.

Children's Illustrated Classic Series. Beige and orange decorated cloth with blue titles. 8 colour plates plus b/w line drawings. 295 pages. Bumping to spine and corners. Wording rubbed at top of spine. Name and address and name and date to front pastedown and endpaper. Slight browning to endpapers. Foxing to prelims and page edges. Price-cut dustwrapper is edge worn with a couple of small tears. Spine is browned. Wrapper is foxed.

Slightly better than good condition.
An Illustrated Magazine For Young Folks Conducted by Dodge. Red cloth covers with black and gilt decoration. B/w illustrations. Spine bumped, worn and browned with nicks to cloth at ends. Corners bumped and worn. Large chip to bottom edge of front cover and smaller one to outside edge. Covers grubby and darkened with white stains to front cover. Browning to endpapers with ink name stamp to front endpaper. Contents very good.

Mary Elizabeth Mapes Dodge (January 26, 1831 – August 21, 1905) was an American children's author and editor, best known for her novel Hans Brinker. She was the recognized leader in juvenile literature for almost a third of the nineteenth century.
