Red cloth with gilt titles. Top edge gilt. 20 colour plates with captioned tissue-guards. Sketch-plan to back of book. Shiny booklist to rear. Possible variant first, or early reprint, as this has a shiny booklist to rear. Spine is browned with splits to either side of spine at top and tail; some chipping and loss. Spots and marks to covers. Name in ink to front pastedown. Inscription to front endpaper. Plate opposite page 46 is loose and is creased with tears and chips to margins; loss; some also to tissue guard. Foxing throughout to various degrees. All plates present.
