Large format. Black cloth, white titles. 11 full-page colour plates including frontis and large folding colour map of London in pocket inside front cover. Mounted colour vignette to dedication page. Carey's strip maps in black and red to rear. Top edge gilt. Uneven fading to cover edges. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Top of spine has small split, with some fraying to cloth. A few marks to covers. Fold-up map still present in pocket at front of book; Some corner creasing and a few margin marks. Foxing; heaviest to endpapers and outer page edges. Couple of tissue-guards are loosely inserted to rear of book. An interesting what looks like colour sketch/watercolour in Aldin style. Can NOT confirm it is an Aldin original. Caption to drawing is 'Making Eyes at the Judge'. Small inscription in ink to a previous owner 'With very best love from Jane and Cecil'. All plates present.

This is a new edition of "Gyp's Hour of Bliss" originally published in 1919. Large large format (13.5 x 10"). Beige cloth spine. Cream boards with red title to front and illustration of puppy dogs. 16 colour pictures with decorative borders and small piece of text below. Spine and corners are bumped and worn. Covers are slightly grubby/marked. Hinges cracked causing some pages to be a little loose. Slight loss to lower inner corner of one page. Creases to inner margins of a couple of pages. A scarce book.
