Pictorial dustwrapper is covered with laminate by the publisher which has a small tear to lower front vertical edge and is creased across the top horizontal edge.

Limited Edition Cased Set, special numbered edition of 100 sets to commemorate the centenary of the first publication in 1908. Small format book with cream cloth and silver titles. 76 numbered pages, all edges gilt. With explanatory leaflet giving a brief biography of Beatrix Potter and the history of the publication of The Tale of Samuel Whiskers. Contained in a green hinged box with silver title and oval onlay to front. Also includes a green leather foil-blocked bookmark. ISBN: 9780723262701. This is copy no. 59. Presentation box is further protected by a white card slip band. Contained in original brown packaging box (with limitation details label to front) and 'cotton' (referring to binding) written in blue biro to front. This copy would make a wonderful gift.

So the Mayor offered a large reward to the first person who could clear the rats away... Pictorial paper boards. Colour pictorial endpapers showing Pied Piper leading the rats away. Colour & b/w illustrations. REDUCED from Â£120. 0.5" loss to top of backstrip affecting 'T' in 'The', base of spine worn. Corners worn. Covers still nice and bright. Minor foxing to endpapers. Some colouring to some b/w illustrations. A few grubby marks to margins. Verso of pictorial wrapper is foxed. Pictorial wrapper is in two halves, spine of wrapper is torn, overall wrapper is edge-worn and torn with a some loss. Overall a nice copy of a scarce item.
