Red cloth, red lettering in gilt oval on front and circle on spine. Front cover shows artist being watched by girl, spine shows lady with girl. Colour frontis plate. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Some light fraying/chipping to cloth at corners. Front joint has been repaired - lots of tape residue marks. Rear joint is repaired with tape. Inscription in ink to verso of frontis. Some plates are taped in with magic tape. Foxing.

Front joint was cracked (possibly broken) with some damage to surface paper on pastedown and new front free-endpaper. Foxing to first few and last few pages, and to outer page edges.
