The 6th Lone Pine book, set against a real background of Romney Marsh. Cream cloth, red titles. Endpapers are maps of Romney Marsh. B/w illustrations. 248 pages. Spine and corners bumped. A few foxspots to textblock. A bright copy overall in dustwrapper which is price-cut and edge worn and torn with some loss.

The Town Books of Faversham c. 1251-1581 are invaluable because they provide the basis for the history of the town in the period. The First Town Book, compiled c. 1382-1405, being a collection of documents dating from 1251 relating to the legal status of the Borough. The Second Town Book comprises the Town Accounts, Wardmote minutes and other records for the period 1436-1581. Two volumes. Large format. Red cloth boards, gilt titles to spines. Colour frontispieces. Limited edition of 250 numbered & signed copies. ISBN: 9780953099832. Copy L (50) of 250 and SIGNED by Duncan Harrington. Edge of boards lightly rubbed. Contents are fine. White pictorial dustwrappers are both a little scuffed and grubby.

Alfred N. Hambrook was a stationer and printer whose shop in Snodland High Street served the community for around fifty years from 1901. His postcards of Snodland and district are well known and he produced a great number of other views with his brother. This book concentrates on an area of mid Kent all within about a dozen miles of Snodland. Hambrook was a good photographer and his images show a way of life and a landscape now much changed by the trappings of modern society. Pictorial cardwraps. B/w & colour photos. ISBN: 9781848689343. A lovely copy.
