A Delineation by Pen and Pencil of the Mountains, Rivers, Lakes, Forests, Water-Falls, Shores, Canyons, Valleys, Cities and Other Picturesque Features of our Country. 12.5 x 10 inches. Book: all plates present. Damage to first two pages of Volume I, with slight loss. Dampstaining to corners of first 40 pages of Volume II else contents very good. Hinge of front board of Volume II slightly cracked. Edges a little worn.

This copy contains a significant number of additional plates. Pagination: iv + 2 page list of subscribers + 298 pages + 4 page list of Sheriffs + 2 page index. Large folding map + two numbered plates. In addition there are 20 plates of views and heraldic shields. Tipped-in manuscript letter dated 1810 on front endpaper. 1 1/2 pages additional handwritten topographical and genealogical information on Scalford tipped-in to first blank page. Spine rubbed with small split at top. Boards slightly spotted. Corners bumped and worn. Blank pages browned, dampstain to last blank page. Contents very clean and bright. Overall a superb copy of this antiquarian history.

The contents of this set are very good but the covers leave a lot to be desired! Front endpapers are missing from volumes I and III. Vols I and III have been amateurishly rebacked in brown leather and the covers are very worn.

Vol I: 39 b/w plates + frontis + large folding map + text illustrations. Vol II: Illustrated title page + 37 b/w plates + plan of Worcester as frontis + text illustrations. Vol I: xcii + 609 pages + 1 page list of plates and pedigrees. Vol II: 484 + clxviii + dedication page to Lord Sandys + 13 pages Domesday facsimile + 104 pages. Rebacked with modern leather spine. Gilt decorations to spines. Red and black leather title labels with gilt titles to spines. Original covers scuffed and slightly worn at edges and corners. Slight damage to front endpapers where a bookplate has been removed and replaced by a slightly smaller one. Last two pages of Vol II detached. Contents very clean and bright. A handsome set.
