B/w frontis and text illustrations throughout. 252 pages plus small catalogue and specimen page. Spine slightly browned. Inscription to half title page. One joint cracked. Contents still tight and generally bright and clean.

3 volumes bound together. Attractive three-quarter burgundy leather binding with gilt title and marbled boards. Marbled endpapers. Doctor Birch and The Kickleburys are illustrated with full-page colour illustrations and Rebecca and Rowena is illustrated by full-page b/w illustrations by Doyle. Slight rubbing to cover edges. Front joint is just starting to crack. Light foxing to contents. First editions published in 1849 and 1850. An attractive volume.
