The author pays tribute to a unique and powerful talent and holds a revealing mirror up to the awkward and complex nature of the man who was H.M.Bateman. Colour and b/w illus throughout. 224 pages. Illustrated brown boards. ISBN: 0906671574. Lower edge of boards lightly rubbed, minor white mark to lower edge of front board. Text block lightly browned. Extensive black mark across page 184 and 185 but text still legible. Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper is faded to spine and a little scuffed.
