Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. Facsimile of the 1924 edition. A book in which Rackham broke new ground in the illustration of Irish literature. Stephens had attempted to create an Irish equivalent of The Arabian Nights in his own poetic retelling of the stories which existed in the oral tradition. 16 in full colour plates. Dusky pink cloth boards, gilt title to spine. 318 pages. Top edge maroon.
Lower edges of boards rubbed. Text block browned and a little grubby. Contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is scuffed, remains of old price label to rear panel.
