THE BABY'S OWN AESOP
by Aesop
Illustrated by Walter Crane
Published by George Routledge & Sons. 1st. 1887
Almost very good condition. 'Being the Fables Condensed in Rhyme with Portable Morals Pictorially Pointed by Walter Crane'. Engraved & printed in colours by Edmund Evans. Beautiful pastel illustrations throughout. Brown/green pictorial boards, green cloth spine. Green/white decorated endpapers. 56 pages.
Spine and corners bumped and rubbed. Surface paper chipped at edges. Boards a little grubby. Inscription in ink to verso of front endpaper. Couple of hinges are pulled. Foxing and a couple of grubby marks to contents. A few pale blue spots to margins of some pages which don't affect the text or illustrations. The colouring on one page seems much lighter than on others -possibly faded or a printing error. Rest of pages are bright.
