Slightly better than very good condition in a very good dustwrapper.
Nine tales from Chaucer retold by Serraillier in straightforward, modern language, omitting all the rhetoric digressions that a modern reader would find tedious. Pale green boards with gilt title to spine. Pink endpapers. B/w wood engravings. 144 pages. ISBN: 0722655312. Boards clean. Light shelf-wear to base of spine. A few minor foxspots to top edge of text block. Small brown mark to half-title page and title page vertical edge. Else contents clean. Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper is lightly faded to spine, a little grubby/scuffed and has a few closed tears to top rear edge.

Red boards, silver title to spine. 252 pages. Colour frontis, b/w illustrations. Spine and corners bumped, a couple of small dents to cover edges. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Endpapers lightly browned and foxed, foxing also at page edges. Dustwrapper is grubby and edge worn, 2.5" tear to lower spine.
