The wild plants of the county of Hertford and the adjoining areas included in Watsonian vice-county 20. Blue boards, gilt title to spine. Colour frontis. B/w photos and distribution maps. A few light marks to boards. Initials in ink to front endpaper. Contents clean. Pictorial wrapper is edge-torn with loss especially affecting title to front panel.

Very good condition.
Very large format. Modern binding; green cloth spine; grey covers with printed title label stuck to front. Illustrative of the science of botany....but more particularly intended to illustrate botanical extracts; or the philosophy of botany. Made up from sections of the author's work: A New Illustration of the Sexual System of Carolus Von Linnaeus. Contains 44 engraved plates; mostly showing specimens viewed under the microscope. Some light wear to cover edges; a bit of damage to home made title label. First 2/3rds of pages have been trimmed, especially to bottom edge; others are uncut; some pages look longer internally than others. Foxing and some grubby margin marks spread to page throughout the book. Damp staining to corners and a couple of edges of pages.
