Bottom front corner is heavily bumped. Top of front cover is bumped. A few marks to covers. Front and back joints beginning to crack. Inscription in ink to front endpaper and a name printed in ink. 'Special Prize' written in ink to rear pastedown. Rear endpaper creased. Foxing especially to endpapers and fingering to page margins.

Written with great care in straight forward, non-technical language and illustrated with many fascinating photographs and explanatory drawings. Large format. Blue boards, dark blue title to spine. 192 pages. Minimal bumping to spine, heavy bumping to corners. Wear to bottom edge of front cover, light browning to some cover edges. Heavy foxing to title page, frontis and half-title page. Light foxing to page edges. Book has musty smell. Price-cut dustwrapper is edge worn, torn and creased. Large tear to front panel, stain to bottom part of spine and panels alongside. Some browning. Clear tape stuck on verso to edges and tears. Foxed.
