Almost very good condition in a fair dustwrapper.
Brown cloth with black titles to spine and front cover. 4 b/w plates. 222 pages. Fading to base of spine. Some white marks to cover edges. Just over 1" piece loss to top of front endpaper. A few hinges are pulled. Pictorial wrapper is heavily taped with yellowing and fragil tape to edges. 1" piece of loss to base of spine. A few other edge-chips/tears to edges of wrapper.

A story founded on fact. Oblong format. Cream boards with red title and black vignette. Full page b/w illustration facing each page of text. Spine and corners worn, cover edges rubbed. Inscription in ink to front pastedown. Endpapers browned. Some light fingermarks to page margins. Red dye from page edges has run onto margins a little in some places.
