The story of the Daniell brothers' voyages from London to Canton in 1786 and return via India in 1794, when China was a very exotic and relatively unknown destination. Edited and introduced by Katherine Prior. 3/4 buckram cloth with pictorial front board and gilt title. Large oblong format. Endpapers are maps. Full page colour illustrations throughout. xix and 329 pages including index. A lovely copy contained in publisher's slipcase which is shelf-scuffed on non-illustrated sides.
