Comprising the rambles, sprees, and amours, of Dick Wildfire, of Corinthian celebrity, and his Bang-up companion, Squire Jenkins and Captain O'Shuffleton; with the whimsical adventures of the Halibut family; including sketches of variety of other eccentric characters in the French Metropolis. Full calf binding, raised bands to spine and gilt tooling, gilt title in title block. Marbled endpapers. 21 hand coloured plates representing scenes from real life, 22 wood engravings to text. All edges gilt. Front board DETACHED. Spine rubbed. Boards a little scratched but still bright. Free front endpaper part detached from bottom. All plates present and bright, foxing to margins of plates, browning to tissue guards. Contents are tight.

Drawn mainly from the sporting diaries he kept for many years, BB recalls numerous little adventures afield. A collection of happenings and impressions of the seasons, beautifully enhanced by dramatic b/w wood- engravings throughout. Black boards, gilt lettering to spine. 176 pages. ISBN: 0718118154. Spine slightly bumped. Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Light foxing and page browning to textblock. Dustwrapper is just a little edge creased and there is slight evidence of the wrapper having been leant on to write.
