An album intended for the owner to collect family crests, monograms, coats of arms, postmarks etc. Supplement of mottoes and classical quotations to rear, along with their meanings, together with illustrations of arms and crests of notable men etc. Red cloth boards, title to spine is 'Crest Album', full title to front with decoration. Spine lightly faded, with fraying to rear edge. Boards a little grubby. Corners lightly worn. Name & date in pencil to front pastedown & endpaper dated 1903. Front joint starting to crack. Many crests etc mounted - album is almost full. Some of the printed decoration to pages have been coloured in with some colouring out of edges. A few small margin tears (no loss). Pages are a little grubby, hinges pulled but binding tight. An interesting historical item.
