The text of this edition is taken from the 1789 edition and includes the first part only, with minor emendations. The additional two letters 'Timothy the Tortoise to Miss Hecky Mulso' and 'On the Sense of Hearing in Fishes', were first published in the 1877 edition of 'The Natural History and Antiquities of Selborne', edited by Thomas Bell, 2 vols, published by John Van Voorst. Exquisite full page colour illustrations. A beautiful edition! One small spot to outer page edges. Slip case is a bit better than very good - a few light marks and scuffs.
