Large format. Russet cloth with gilt title to spine and elaborate peacock and elephant design to front cover. 20 superb colour plates, tipped onto cream card with decorative border and each with a tissue-guard. Cloth and gilt are beautifully bright (where they've been protected by wrapper). Some foxing and light marks to endpapers and outer page edges. All plates are present and in super condition! Scarce wrapper has darkened to spine; a little edge-creasing; a few small tears and chips to corners and top and tail of spine. A few grubby marks to rear of wrapper. Onlay to front of wrapper is still bright.

Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Some uneven fading/marks to covers, with scuffing. Inscription in ink to front endpaper, which also has some corner creasing. Light corner crease to frontis, other plates are fine! Some foxing and browning.

All engravings are present.
