Very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper.
Three boys find a secret passage near their school at Malta. Green cloth with gilt title to spine and embossed title to front. 220 pages. Spine bumped. Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Endpapers lightly browned. Some foxing to textblock. Dustwrapper is edge worn and chipped, rear panel is grubby.

Its strategic importance was obvious to both sides, standing as it did in the central Mediterranean, athwart the supply route between Italy and the Axis armies in North Africa. Blue cloth boards, silver title to spine. xx and 532 pages including index. ISBN: 0719557534. Top & tail of spine lightly bumped/shelf-worn. Lengthy gift inscription in ink to front endpaper. Else contents clean. Blue dustwrapper is creased & scuffed, small mark to rear panel.
